Maya Mehanna – President

Maya Mehanna, President, Education Director and Classroom Teacher, has over ten years of experience teaching at the elementary and middle school level as well as being a therapist in one-on-one ABA programs. She has taught children with a variety of needs including autism, ADHD, emotional/behavioral disorders, LD, and ESOL students. Ms. Mehanna has worked with these students in her own inclusion classroom as well as in a one-on-one setting. She has developed individual, classroom, as well as county-wide curriculum. She has held leadership positions within the public school sector and in private therapy programs. Ms. Mehanna was featured in the Clemson Alumni HEHDlines. Stefanie Smith - Treasurer

Stefanie Smith, Co-Founder and Executive Director, has over 20 years of accounting experience as well as several years of experience in human resources and office administration. She is also a parent of 2 special needs children, one with autism and one with ADHD. As the leader of her home ABA program, Stefanie has been extensively involved in developing the program, creating the materials, and hiring and training staff. She has also written a book on dietary intervention and conducts seminars on the subject.

Jennifer Hogan - Secretary

Jennifer Hogan teaches high school social studies in Cobb County. She has been teaching for nine years. She began her teaching career at a middle school in Pasadena, California. In addition to teaching social studies, she has also coached soccer, softball, and track & field teams at her school. She is a sponsor for extracurricular clubs at her school and is the Team Captain for her school's Relay for Life team. She received her B.A. in Secondary Education from Clemson University in 2000. She earned her M.Ed. in School Library Media from the University of West Georgia in 2006. She is currently working to complete her Ed.S. in School Library Media at the University of West Georgia. She was named the Teacher of the Year from her school in 2007-2008.

Julie Sherril

Julie Sherrill got her BS in Business from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She currently works for Marriott International in Revenue Management for five of their Atlanta hotels. Her expertise focuses around analysis, strategy, and business trends with a background in Sales. She is also a Marriott Certified Recruiter, and volunteers for Marriott Career Fairs in addition to college recruiting and interviewing. Ms. Sherrill has been affiliated with Alexsander Academy since its inception through various fund raising efforts and has been serving on their board since December 2008. She also serves as Vice President of the HOA board in her residential community.

Brian Clark and Bonnie Haggerty

Brian Clark and Bonnie Haggerty are passionate entrepreneurs who are continuously seeking and developing new business opportunities that focus on increasing revenue and efficiency for content owners and aggregators through innovative solutions that quickly and effectively manage and distribute that content to end users. As founder and visionary of Media Go Round, LLC, Mr. Clark’s fifteen years of experience are at the center of his expertise in deliverables branding, content management and distribution. Ms. Haggerty, co-founder of Media Go Round, has experience as a social worker and has a passion for helping children. Brian and Bonnie have been an integral part of the success at Alexsander Academy and are dedicated to the success of the students.
